JOHN CULSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY TOURNAMMENT
The Blackburn & District Badminton Association will once again be organising an annual charity badminton tournament in honour of the former Mayor of Accrington, John Culshaw.
This event will take place on Sunday 11th March 2012 commencing at 10am. It is open to any player whether registered with a badminton club or not. Teams can be a mix of players of all standards and clubs, however entrants are expected to know the rules of the game as this is a competitive event. The tournament is handicapped.
The event will be held at Hyndburn Sports Centre thanks to the generosity of the Hyndburn Borough Council, who has made these facilities available.
The tournament is made up of teams of four players (two ladies, two men) who play a total of 8 games in each match (two mixed and two levels games). Teams will play several of these matches throughout the day depending on the number of teams in each pool.
When applying for entry to the tournament, teams should give themselves a ‘team name’ and
advise the names of players, together with a contact telephone number. An entry fee of £30 (£7.50 per player) will be collected on the day of the tournament. Play will commence from 10am on the Sunday morning and it is hoped that the finals of the event will be completed by 5pm. This is an enjoyable day where games will be played on a pools basis, meaning you will play lots of games against players of different standards.
To make it easier to enter there are a number of ways in which you can enter, and entries are being accepted up to Sunday 26th February and can be made using the email below or ring 07957138914
