Blackburn 1st Town Team vs Mid Lancs
Blackburn hosted Inter League champions Mid Lancs at Norden on 13th March and lost 13 2 overall.
However the match was a lot closer than the final score suggests as we lost several games in 3 sets.
The team have finished 3rd overall in the league which is a great achievement.
Team v Mid Lancs was Keith Ashton, Nick Hodgson, Abdul Malik, Syed Masood, Ashley Gibson, Allison Leaver, Cheryl Parry (all Hit&Miss) and Joanna Holt and Claire Nelson (Seniors)

Cup Info & Results
Cup finals will be held at Hyndburn Sports center on Tueadsy April 12th, courts available from 7:00PM, matches start at 8:00PM.
Team captains need to send their teams to Rick Smith before 5:00PM on the 8th April.

Blackburn 1st Town Team vs Blackpool 1
On Sunday 28th February, Blackburn 1st town team hosted Blackpool 1st at Norden.
Blackburn came out victorious with an impressive max points win of 12 games to 3 moving them up to 2nd place in the inter league top division league table. It is still mathematically possible for Blackburn to win the league with next opponents Mid Lancs currently sitting top. This is an incredible feat seeing as in 2013, Blackburn was languishing in the inter league 3rd division but following back to back promotions, the team is now a real force in the top division.
The team against Blackpool was Ashley Gibson, Nick Hodgson, Abdul Malik, Keith Ashton, Cheryl Parry, Allison Leaver, Ciara Pender (all from Hit&Miss), Joanna Holt (Blackburn Seniors) and Phil Aspinall (Westholme).

The under 18s tournament has been rearranged and will now take place on Wednesday 23rd March from 8pm at Norden Sports Centre. Further details will be sent to your club secretary shortly.

Blackburn 1st town team hosted Bolton 1st at Norden on Sunday 17th January with a great set of supporters cheering the team on, Blackburn had a fantastic 8-7 win with Abdul Malik and Claire Edmundson winning the final game in 3 sets to secure the win.
The team was Ashley Gibson, Nick Hodgson, Syed Masood, Abdul Malik, Cheryl Parry (all from Hit&Miss) and Joanna Holt, Claire Edmundson and Jenny Woods (Blackburn Seniors).

Free Badminton Sessions!
The leauge has been made aware of free badminton sessions being made available, please see below for details:
“There are free Badminton Sessions being held at the new Blackburn Sports & Leisure Centre:
Feilden St, Blackburn, Lancashire BB2 1LQ.
Starting Tuesday 19th January 2016.
These sessions are organised and funded by Blackburn Rovers, Sport England & The National Lottery.
There are two sessions on Tuesday Evenings:
7-8pm for 14-25 year olds
8-9pm for 25 year olds and over.
(Please note the first two weeks will be just for 1 hour between 7-8, so both age groups will share the courts).
There are 4 courts available.
Please pass on this information as all are welcome to attend.
This initiative is called Motivate! and its aim is to increase the participation of badminton in the community.
We have a few spare rackets to use and shuttles are provided.
